VENUS CAZIMI, FULL MOON IN TAURUS, MERCURY RETROGRADE AND WEEKLY ASTROLOGY FORECAST FOR OCTOBER 19, 2026

This week alone carries so much charge. Old past material. Karmic relational material. Deep unconscious power dynamics surfacing. We're at the midpoint of Venus retrograde, and she's reaching her rebirth point, the cazimi, when she meets the Sun and resets entirely.

This is one of the more potent weeks of the entire Venus retrograde cycle. And there's so much layered into it.

VENUS SQUARE PLUTO

We start this week with Venus squaring Pluto on October 19th. This is the second square in a series of three. We had the first on September 15th when Venus was direct. We'll have the final one in December when both are direct. But this one is happening while Venus is retrograde and Pluto has just stationed direct, which intensifies everything.

This is power dynamics work. This is attachment patterns surfacing. This is where we feel our power threatened and we react. Where we lose ourselves. Where we try to control. Where we engage in the subtle manipulations we don't even realize we're doing.

Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth, power and transformation. When it stations direct, it brings material up from the underworld. And Venus is revisiting this square from a different level of awareness. Deeper, more conscious, more willing to look at what's actually happening beneath the surface.

What does it feel like to be empowered? What does it feel like to be out of power? How do you react when your sense of safety feels threatened? These are the questions this square is asking.

Scorpio rules the 8th house, the house of shared resources, intimacy, trust, sexuality, what's hidden. And with both Venus and Pluto activated, power dynamics in relationships, money, and attachment patterns are front and center.

THE CAZIMI: OCTOBER 23RD, THE LAST ONE IN SCORPIO

On October 23rd, the Sun enters Scorpio. And moments later, Venus meets the Sun at 0° Scorpio. This is the cazimi, the rebirth point. The heart of the retrograde.

Here's what makes this cazimi extraordinary: this is the last Venus cazimi in Scorpio for over 100 years.

Since 1930, right after the stock market crash, Venus has consistently reset herself in Scorpio during autumn retrogrades. Every eight years, she returns to the same sign for this reset. But after this October, she won't return to Scorpio for a cazimi for another century. The cycle that began in 1930 is closing.

This means something very large is completing. Something related to money, values, resources, power dynamics, what's been hidden, what's been manipulative or deceptive in our relational and financial systems. A 100-year chapter is ending. A new one is beginning.

Think back to October 2018. That was the last cazimi during a Venus retrograde in Scorpio. What were you navigating then? Who were you in relationship with? What relational patterns were you working through? What was happening with money?

That material is returning now. Not the same circumstances, but the same themes. The same growth edges. And this time, you get to work with them differently.

The cazimi itself is a death and rebirth. Venus has been in her evening star phase, descending into darkness. On October 23rd, she meets the Sun—she dies and is reborn. She becomes the morning star. It's renewal. It's an entirely new Venus cycle beginning, an eight-year cycle.

From October 3rd to 23rd is the deepest descent. The murkiest part. Things feel heavy and pressurized. But on the 23rd, at the cazimi, there's a shift. A reset. From there, as she moves back into Libra, the retrograde becomes more workable. There's more light. More clarity.

MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE

The day after the cazimi, Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio. This is significant. Mercury and Venus are now both in their underworld journey together. They'll both station direct on the same day, November 13th, so they travel through the retrograde cycle together.

Mercury brings communication, perception, memory, interpretation to this descent. Old conversations will surface. Old psychological material. Emotional history. The memories you hold around attachment and security in relationships. How you interpret other people's behavior. The narratives you tell yourself about trust.

Mercury in Scorpio is already a descent into the underworld. It's excavation. And paired with Venus retrograde, we're looking at deep relational material being brought to consciousness. Hidden things being revealed. Things we've been avoiding seeing clearly.

This adds another layer to what's already potent. By October 24th, we have Mercury entering its own retrograde shadow, Venus at her rebirth point the day before, and everything moving into Scorpio's territory of the unseen, the unconscious, the deeply hidden.

THE FULL MOON IN TAURUS

And then, the day after Mercury stations retrograde, we have the Full Moon in Taurus at 2°. This is just two days after Venus's cazimi. The Sun will be at 2° Scorpio. The Moon at 2° Taurus.

This full moon is squaring Pluto at 3° Aquarius. We have a T-square between Pluto, the Sun, and the Moon. All of this is deeply underworld work.

But here's what's significant: Venus rules this full moon. She's in her descent, in her retrograde, and just having been reborn. The ruler of this full moon is intimately connected to everything happening this week.

Taurus and Scorpio are opposites. Taurus develops your relationship with yourself, your internal resources, your self-worth, your sense of safety and security within. Scorpio is the vulnerability of sharing what you've cultivated. It's merging. It's transformation through intimacy.

Our capacity for intimacy develops alongside our capacity to remain rooted in ourselves. We need internal security to navigate shared resources, shared bodies, shared power dynamics without losing our center.

This full moon is asking: Where are you rooted? Where do you need deeper roots? Where are you rooted into things that no longer serve you? Where are you fixed in old patterns that keep you trapped in unhealthy relational dynamics?

The T-square with Pluto brings up themes of power, control, survival, attachment, transformation, resources, finances, intimacy, agency, autonomy, security. All of it is ultra heightened.

THE WORK THIS WEEK

This is the culmination week of the entire Venus retrograde. We've been building to this moment since October 3rd. The material that's been surfacing, the patterns that have been illuminated, the power dynamics that have been revealeD. They're all concentrating now into this single week.

Fixed signs concentrate energy. They distill. They apply pressure. And we're in heavy fixed energy: Mars in Leo, Pluto in Aquarius, Venus and Mercury in Scorpio, the Sun and Moon in fixed signs.

There's so much intensity here. But there's also clarity. Because at the cazimi, something resets. Something becomes clear. Not in a linear way—Pisces and Scorpio don't work that way. But in a way that illuminates what's true.

If you've been feeling these patterns intensely, if old material has been surfacing, if you're aware of your own participation in these dynamics for the first time, that's exactly what this week is designed to reveal.

The invitation is to not grip. To not try to control what's emerging. To let the underworld do its work. To trust that something is being purified, something is being healed, something old is being released so something new can be born.

By October 23rd, when Venus meets the Sun, you'll feel the shift. A moment of clarity. A reset. And then, as she moves into Libra, there's a lightening. A possibility of new understanding.

This retrograde isn't over. But the deepest part is. And from here, you move forward with more consciousness, more awareness of what's actually true beneath the surface of your relationships, your money, your power, your worth.

Trust the process. Honor the descent. Know that on the other side of this, something real is being born.
