THE AUTUMN EQUINOX AND FULL MOON IN ARIES + WEEKLY ASTROLOGY FORECAST FOR SEPTEMBER 20, 2026
We've reached the checkpoint. The reset point. The tipping point of the year.
On September 22nd, the Sun enters Libra and we cross the autumn equinox. That same evening, we experience equal light and dark. Three days later, on September 26th at 9:48 AM Pacific, the full moon peaks at 3 degrees Aries. Between these two major events, on September 25th, the Sun opposes Neptune retrograde in Aries.
We're standing at a threshold. The midpoint of the zodiac. The halfway mark of the astrological year. And everything shifts.
THE EQUINOX: A BALANCE AND A DESCENT
The equinox is a turning point. For six months, we've been moving outward. Spring and summer brought increasing light. The summer solstice peaked on June 20th with maximum illumination. We've been in a season of consciousness, of exposure, of things being revealed.
Now we cross into the second half of the year. The light begins to decrease. The evenings grow longer. We move from the visible into the invisible, from the seen into the unseen. The veil begins to thin.
This descent is intelligent. It's not empty or stagnant. It carries the wisdom of release and composting. Of gestation. Of simplification. Of darkness and interiority. This is the season where the natural world releases what it can no longer sustain. Where fertility happens in soil that's been enriched by decay.
The equinox asks us to honor what the summer revealed before we move into this inward turn. What did Virgo season clarify for you? What did you sort through, organize, decide to keep or release? What from eclipse season are you still integrating? The equinox is an inventory point. A moment to note what peaked, what completed, what ripened, what was harvested. And what now needs to be composted. Digested into wisdom. Metabolized into change.
FROM SELF TO OTHER: THE LIBRA THRESHOLD
The first six signs of the zodiac are about developing the individual self. Aries through Virgo is the work of individuation. Building a self. Understanding yourself. Claiming your power and autonomy.
Libra changes everything. It’s where we encounter the other. Where we realize we're not the only center of gravity. We move from personal development into participation with the larger field. From the self into relationship.
This is essential work. A healthy relationship with others requires a strong sense of self. It requires enough selfhood to encounter another person without dissolving into them. Most dysfunction in relationship comes back to fragmentation of the self. So the work of Aries through Virgo isn't selfish. It's foundational. It's what allows us to be healthy, functioning members of society. Good partners. Good friends. Good participants in the world.
Now Libra invites us to apply that work outward. To notice how we're showing up in relationship. To recalibrate. To practice balance as an ongoing act, not a fixed state.
Libra is often called the nervous system of the zodiac. It's constantly taking in information from the external world, digesting it, processing it to find something that serves both the self and the other. It's responsive. Living and breathing. Always adjusting.
The equinox in Libra reminds us that balance is a practice. Adjustment and recalibration happen naturally as seasons change. Your practices shift. Your rituals shift. What you eat, what you consume, who you're around. These things should evolve. There's no rigidity here. It's experimentation. It's paying attention to what lands and what doesn't.
SUN OPPOSES NEPTUNE: DISSOLVING IDENTITY
On September 25th, the Sun in Libra opposes Neptune retrograde in Aries. This is a polarity between identity and dissolution. Between consciousness and the dissolving of boundaries. Between the self and what lies beyond the self.
Neptune in Aries is dissolving identity. It's revealing illusions around who we are, around agency, around power and will and courage. It's encouraging a maturation of consciousness around these themes. A rise in perspective.
The Sun is illuminating this axis of self and other. It's shining light on where we're operating from. Who we're being. What we're choosing in relation to others.
THE FULL MOON IN ARIES: LIFE FORCE AND RESPONSIBILITY
The full moon on September 26th at 3 degrees Aries is complex and layered. This is young Aries energy. Raw. First decant fire. It brings up material around anger, instinct, life force, desire, power, courage, independence.
The full moon conjuncts Neptune at a 1 degree orb. This heightens psychic material and sensitivity. Dreams will be vivid. Intuitions will be sharp. The veils are thinning as we enter the descent.
The full moon receives sextiles from both Pluto and Uranus, activating the Barbeau's basket we've been weaving all year. There's harmonious support for breakthrough here. A grand trine forms between the Sun, Pluto, and Uranus. Multiple sextiles weave through.
But the full moon also squares Mars at the anoretic degree, the 29 degree point of Cancer. There's emotional intensity here. Breakthrough potential. And also the possibility of slipping back into old patterns. Reactivity. Protection. Walls.
This full moon will illuminate where your life force is operating from. Where you're creating from. Are you responding from your mature, conscious adult self? Or from your wounded inner child? Where do your emotions or desires override your higher self? Where do you need more agency? Where are you dissolving into the other? Where are you avoiding responsibility?
There's something important to address here. Victim consciousness. It's different from being a victim. People are victims every day of things outside their control. Traumas happen. Difficult experiences happen. It's essential to honor those experiences and support people through them.
But victim consciousness is a nervous system state. An inner child pocket. A fragmentation where we've become immobilized. Where we've lost life force, power, will, confidence, courage because what happened was overwhelming and we didn't have the resources to process it.
Victim consciousness is sneaky. It's where we become our past. Where we become our traumas. Where parts of self get stuck. And it's incredibly easy to slip into because there's a comfort there. A familiarity.
The work is not to shame those parts. It's to attune to them. To listen. To love them. To say: I see you. The conditions are different now. Can we mobilize through this together?
When we realize we're perpetuating these patterns. When we see that we actually have the tools to unlock this space. That we have agency and choice and power. That's where the quantum leap happens. It's the most empowering space. And also the most confronting.
This full moon in Aries, with all this activation, is asking you to look at where you're participating in your own experience. What you're choosing. What you're weaving. What you're creating from.
DESCENDING INTO THE UNDERWORLD
We're moving into a season of descent. The dark months. Multiple planets are retrograde. It might feel slower. But slowness is not emptiness. The retrograde seasons are dynamic. They hold immense content. The descent is fruitful and confronting.
We're carrying our consciousness into the underworld. We're allowing things to fall away. Revelations and realizations will come through. This is preparation work. Training ground for what 2027 will bring.
The work is deep. The season is fertile. And we're exactly where we need to be.
THE ARCHIVE
I've created the Archive, my embodied astrology membership, to be a training ground and development space for all of us navigating this time together. Each month you receive a field report that breaks down the collective transits and shows you exactly how they're impacting you personally based on your North Node and evolutionary trajectory. Inside the Archive you'll find somatic practices, inner child work, past life exploration, energy work, quantum healing practices, and tools I've developed over years of study and training. You'll also get access to my course Inner Compass if you sign up for the yearly membership. Whether you choose monthly or yearly, this is a space to engage with astrology in a conscious, embodied way and prepare for what's coming.
